Our Mission and Vision
About Us
Mission: At J.W. McLauchlin Elementary, we aim to provide a safe place in which all are welcomed. We provide a supportive environment that promotes and cultivates relationships that allow our students to embrace challenges as they grow towards becoming lifelong learners.
Vision: We are growing lifelong learners by providing solid foundations upon which academic, behavioral and emotional growth can occur. Positive relationships and collaboration exist between the school, home, and community to ensure that our students will become productive citizens and future leaders.
News & Announcements
Hoke County Schools Families,
Our district, Hoke County Schools, values input from our families. You are an essential partner as we work to continually improve our academic programs, communication, school culture, and overall experience for students and their families. We would like you to complete a Cognia survey to gather your feedback. Our school district is accredited through Cognia, so the surveys provide Cognia and our district with in-depth knowledge to help us reach accreditation. You may complete the survey on your smartphone or computer. All responses are anonymous. Surveys take 15-30 minutes to complete. The survey will close on November 1st.
If you have any questions regarding the survey, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Mary McLeod, Executive Director of Federal Programs and School Improvement, or Mr. Elventre Southerland, Federal Programs Administrative Assistant, at (910) 875-2416 ext 232.
Thank you for your continued support of our school system
McLauchlin will participate in a county-wide event every Friday in October to raise money for Kidz In Lids. What is Kidz In Lids? It is a program that helps support students struggling with cancer. Students bring a dollar to school and get to wear their favorite hats. We will also have bracelets for a $1.00 donation for those who don't want to wear a hat. Let's help Kidz In Lids!
As part of our ongoing efforts to prioritize the safety and security of our schools, Hoke County Schools (HCS) is implementing additional protocols and procedures for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We know it takes a team effort of our staff, students, and parents working together to provide the safest environment possible. One of the new safety protocols is the requirement that all students who choose to carry a backpack must use a clear backpack, starting this upcoming school year.
